Agriculture Victoria, as part of the TopSoils Program, are having field days at two of their demonstration sites, Connor’s Hill and Swan Reach.
They are trialing Native Pasture management at Connors Hill, and Paramatta grass/Rats tail grass control at Swan Reach.
Connor’s Hill: In Spring 2016 two demonstration sites (Connor’s Hill and Reedy Flat), were setup to investigate the effect of nutrient application and strategic grazing in native pasture systems, focusing on improving production, weed control and ground cover. Guest speakers Meredith Mitchell (AgVic Research Scientist) and Fiona Baker (AgVic Grazing Management Specialist) will be attending. Tuesday 21st November, 4pm, Connor’s Hill Lookout.
Swan Reach: Come and join us for a short field day, which is designed to provide an update on the progress of the site and the treatments which have included the use of short term Ryegrass in a pasture heavily infested with Paramatta Grass.
