A large crowd was in attendance on Sunday afternoon 18/08/19 for the unveiling of the Flaggy Creek & District Landcare Group history board, located in Melwood Picnic Park. The recently constructed history board is an informative addition to the picnic area, in addition to picnic tables and welcoming surrounds. The park was established by the Flaggy Creek and District Landcare Group, who continue to maintain and improve the area for the benefit of recreational users and visitors to the adjoining Mount Alfred State Forest.
The unveiling allowed for a brief history of the area to be presented by Flaggy Creek President, James Rose and Melwood pioneer Lester Cox, followed by a well prepared afternoon tea in the old Melwood school building.
Many thanks to all involved for their efforts, if you feel like stopping by the Melwood Picnic Park to have a cuppa and take in the areas history, follow Boggy Creek Rd to the junction of Melwood School Rd before entering Mt Alfred State Forest.
