Within the Lower Tambo Landcare area our shared vision is: • To re-establish with native vegetation the river banks, wetlands and roadsides. • To help landowners fence off sensitive areas to provide corridors for native flora and fauna. • To control and manage pest plants and animals.
The Lower Tambo Landcare group formed in 1998 and the group area covers 10,965 hectares. The group conducts its activities in the Lower Tambo area with a focus on the the Tambo River between the Stephensons Road bridge and the Tambo River mouth.
The group has a membership base of more than 40 families, approx 25 % are considered primary producers with their main source of income derived from farming, 50 % are lifestyle/hobby property owners their source of income is principally derived off farm and 25 % are considered urban property owners.
The Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Anglican Church Hall, Swan Reach at 7.30pm. Guests and new members are most welcome.
