Swifts Creek-Ensay Landcare Group

The Swifts Creek Ensay Landcare group formed in 1993 and the group area covers 57,475 hectares. This area encompasses Bindi, Tongio, Swifts Creek, Cassilis, Brookville, Doctor’s Flat, Ensay and Tambo Crossing. The group is situated approximately 100 kilometres north east of the City of Bairnsdale.

The Group has a membership base of 80 families.  The Group’s main focus is pest plants and animals, and erosion.  The Swifts Creek – Ensay Landcare Group administer the employment of the High Country Pest Plant and Animal Coordinator.  The Coordinator is responsible for property weed control plans, cross property aerial weed spraying, organising bulk herbicide purchases, coordinated pest animal control programs and general advice on managing pest plants and pest animals on farm.
