As part of an EGLN 'Fire Management' workshop, David Lindenmayer presented a summary of his research to the Group on 24th September 2024. This workshop was delivered thanks to support from the Victorian Government through the Victorian Landcare Grants program.

Working in partnership with Trust for Nature, Greening Australia and Birdlife Australia, and with the support of the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority, over the course of this three year project (from 2020-2023) EGLN have been able to rehabilitate and protect over 350ha of riparian land in our beautiful region - all of which ultimately flows into the Gippsland Lakes. This short video showcases some of these works.

Our thanks go to the funding bodies, The Ian Potter Foundation, the Ross Trust and the Rendere Trust, without whom these works would not have been possible.

This 5-part series of videos explains the science behind the idea of 'Firewise' planting. These videos, which were produced by Lakes Entrance Community Landcare, can be used in conjunction with the firewise brochures that can be found on our 'factsheets, booklets and brochures' resource page.
